Sharon Ann Stanley, D.O.

Dr. Stanley graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1985. She completed a rotating internship at Phoenix General Hospital and has been board certified in Osteopathic Manipulation and Neuromuscular Medicine since 1995. Dr. Stanley completed a four-year Classical Homeopathy program for health professionals at Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in Berkeley, California in 1998. She was a student of Dr. Rollin Becker D.O., and Robert Fulford, D.O. and studied Biodynamics for many years with James Jealous D.O.. Dr. Stanley has been active locally and nationally in the study and teaching of Osteopathy with numerous osteopathic medical students and residents, as well as with the Cranial Academy. 

Dr. Stanley has practiced Traditional Osteopathy with an emphasis in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field and Biodynamics in both private and group practices in Santa Cruz, CA, Portland, OR, and Boulder, CO, prior to Bellingham, WA. Additionally, Dr. Stanley integrates Classical Homeopathy as part of consultation and treatment when it is appropriate in-patient care.

Dr. Stanley was raised in a military family and lived throughout the United States. These experiences support her understanding of the vast cultural differences in communities, families and individuals and how those differences need to be respected and supported as part of enabling physical, mental and emotional health for patients. She started her practice with her late husband, Keith C. Swan, D.O., and continues their dedication of service to the community.  Dr. Stanley is passionate about the preservation of historic architecture, as well as hiking, camping, kayaking and sailing in the Pacific Northwest.
